Synopsis:

Eghemon is a world devastated by war, the so called “ The War of the Ten Years”. Kings and Popes fight each other trying to take command, backing up with companies of ruthless mercenaries.

Valerian is a soldier under the leadership of the glacial Julius De Mer, who hires him both as an official and as a personal assassin. Being appointed of murdering a count, Valerian, in spite of himself, will have to kill the man’s fourteen years old daughter, an event that will echo in his conscience, already put to the test by the love for his companion in arms Mile and by the short relation he once had with Julius himself, who is still in love with him and from whom Valerian tries to shy away with all his strength for not being compromised.

 

When some of the emissaries of the Church of Wuth commission Valerian to recover a copy of the heretical Gospel of Gunthar from a deconsecrated abbey, the soldier will have to face an entity beyond his understanding that seems to come from the depths of the absolute Evil.
